Subject: Inspection 50-271/80-21
This refers to your letter dated February 4,1981, in response to our letter
dated January 14, 1981.
Thank you for informing us of the corrective and preventive actions documented
in your letter regarding Itam 1.
These actions will be examined during a future
inspection of your licensed program.
In regard to Item 2, we find that you have failed to correct the identified item
of noncompliance in a timely manner.
In your reply you have not indicated what
interim actions you have taken to comply with this requirement from December 2,
1980, when this item was identified.
Your reply only indicates that contingent
upon hardware receipt you expect to correct this matter by May 1, 1981.
You are required to reply to this letter, and in preparing your response you
should include a description of the actions taken by you since December 2,1980
to achieve compliance with this requirement.
In accordance with Section 2.790(.d) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, documentation of findings of your control
and accounting procedures for safeguarding special nuclear materials and your

facility security procedures are exempt from disclosure; therefore, Attachment A
of the referenced letter will not be placed in the Public Document Room.
