Description of Event

On January 26, 1981, during steady state operation, the Containment Hi and Hi-Hi pressure channel III annunciator energized. After determining

. that an actual high pressure did not exist, the channel was placed in the trip condition and declared inoperable.

- Probable Consequences of Occurrence The consequences of this event were limited because three out of the four containment pressure channels remained operable to initiate a

- Containment Depressurization Actuation if required. Therefore, the health and safety of the general public were not affected.

Cause of Event

This event was caused by instrument drift in the non-isolated power supply. card.

Immediate Corrective Action

The-affected channel was placed in the trip position within 1 hour1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br /> as required by T.S. 3.3.2.1.

The affected power supply was' replaced,

- the channel was calibrated and returned to service.
