. e Tennessee Valley Authority Sequoyah Nuclear Plant LER SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION SQRO-50-327/80160 Technical Specification Involved 3.6.1.4 Reported Under Technical Specification 6.9.1.13.b Date of Occurrence: 9/26/80 Time of Occurrence: 2340 (C)

Identification and Description of Occurrence During RCS heatup, containment differential pressure relative to the annulus exceeded Technical Specification 3.6.1.4 limit of 0.3 psi.

Conditions Prior To Occurrence Mode 4. RCS pressure 1700 psig and Tave less than 3: 1 degrees F.

RCS heatup in progsass.

Apparent Cause of Occurrence Internal pressure increased due to heatup of containment atmosphere and normal 1

leakage of control air into containment.

Analvsis of Occurrence A containment atmosphere sample analysis is required prior to venting containment. This procedure takes 6 to 8 hours9.259259e-5 days
0.00222 hours
1.322751e-5 weeks
3.044e-6 months
to complete and during this time containment differential pressure reached approximately 0.5 psi.

Corrective Actions Taken Containment differential pressure was reduced to within limits by venting following sample analysis (Total time under action statement was approximately 6 hours6.944444e-5 days
0.00167 hours
9.920635e-6 weeks
2.283e-6 months
). Procedure changes have been made to perform sample analysis daily in modes 1-4 to eliminate delays of venting containment. In addition t

operations personnel have.been instructed to be more aware of the possiblity nf having to vent containment during a RCS heatup.
