4 Based on the NRC inspection June 30 - July 18, 1980, certain of your activities were apparently not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated j

below. These items have been categorized as described in correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.

A.

As required by Criterion IX of Appendix B to 10CFR50, as implemented by Duke's Topical Report, Paragraph 17.1.9, measures shall be established to assure that welding is controlled in accordance with applicable standards.

Contrary to the above, installation Drawing CN-1915-05, Revision 10 displays symbols and letters which are not defined in DPC specifications, design documents, procedures, instructions or in the applicable AWS section for symbols.

This is a deficiency.

As required by Criterion VI of Appendix B to 10CFR50, as implemented by j

Duke's Topical Report, Paragraph 17.1.6.2, superseded or revised drawings j

are to be controlled to assure that revised drawings are available at the 1

proper location.

Contrary to the above, eight superseded drawings were found not to be j

identified as such and were not replaced by the revised drawings.

This is a deficiency.

C.

As required by Criterion V of Appendix B to 10CFR50, as implemented by Duke's Topical Report, Paragraph 17.1.5.2, work is to be accomplished in accordance with documented procedures.

Contrary to the above, there was no procedural control of concrete vibrators to assure that they were properly tested and maintained.
