DUKE POWER COMPANY CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION Response to Infraction 413/80-14-01 Infraction:
As required by Criterion V of Appendix B to 10CFR 50, as imple=ented by Duke's Topical Report, paragtaph 17.1.5.2, work is to be performed in accordance with drawings and procedures.
Contrary to the above, a unit 1 pipe strut was found to have its ball bushing wedged with a piece of metal; restricting movement of the strut bar.
Placement of this wedge in the bushing was not according to procedure.
Response
The supplemental inspection instructions to be issued for the final walk-down inspectica described in QA Procedure M-15 will include a check for freedom of movement on applicable supports. This action will be complete by October 1, 1980.
