APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATI N Duke Power Company License No. CPPR-117 Catawba Nuclear Station, Unit 2 Based on the NRC inspection February 19-29, 1980, certain of your activities were apparen*.ly not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indi-cated below. These items have been categorized as described in correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
As required by Criterion XV of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50, and implemented by Duke Power Company Topical Report, paragraph 17.1.15, " Measures shall be established to control material...in accordance with documented procedures.
Catawaba procedure Q-1, revision 12 requires that any person discovering a nonconforming item shall initiate a nonconformance report.
Contrary to the above, a nonconformance report was not initiated to control a " struck hold down bolt" in the Unit 2 steam generator.
This is a deficiency, not requiring a written response.
