Gentlemen:

Subject:

Inspection No. 50-334/79-29

This refers to your letter dated February 7, 1980, in response to our letter

dated January 31, 1980.

Based on a telephone conversation between Mr. R. Burski of your staff and

Mr. W. Rekito of this office on February 19, 1980, it is our understanding

that the study for average ambient air temperature, described as corrective

action, was done to assure yourself that the hydraulic snubber functional

testing was accomplished within the 65 F temperature limits allowed by the

procedure.

It is also our understanding tht ;%r action to prevent recurrence will

include instructing maintenan".e personr.J regarding responsibilities for adher-

ence to procedures as stated in Station Administrative Directive No. 8.

Thank you for informing us of the corrective and preventive actions documented

in your 1 W.er.

These actions will be examined during a subsequent inspection

of your licensed program.

Your cooperation with us is appreciated.

Sincerely,
