The attached report of a routine announced inspection on June 27, 1972,
and July 18-21, 1972, is forwarded for information. One item of non-

compliance with 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, was included in the Region II
!
letter to Duke concerning this inspection.
Duke continues to make satisfactory progress in repairing the damaged
peactor coolant system components. Duke's velding consultant apparently
is being given free rein in correcting deficiencies in Duke's velding and
NDT programs. Work in both these areas is not expected to be completed
,
until approximately November 1972.
