Dear Mr. Knuth:

7e wish to advise you that we have been notified by B&W Co:apany that they have determined that a deficiency exists in the hydraalic performance of the reactor building spray system on a unit similar to Crystal River Unit #3 (ANO f1.).

Neither the hydraulic performance or the overall effects for Crystal River Unit #3 bave yet been assessed. Pursuant to 10CTR50.55(e), this deficiency is being reported as a "possible" significant deficiency.

Florida Power Corporation is assessing what steps are necessary to determini the posture of the Crystal River Unit #3 reactor building spray system as regards to its hydraulic performance.

We will keep you informed of the actions taken by Florida Power Corporation concerning this matter.
