Dear Mr. Moseley:
On June 21 we forwarded to your Mr. Knt.th a written verification of a 50.55(e) design defit:iency involving hydraulic snubber sight gauge leakage.
This notice offered 3 possible fixes of which 41 and #2 F
were definitive.
On June 70, 1976, Florida Power elected to go for what we feel is the more permanent and acceptable solution as proposed by its supplier Power Piping Conpany. This A
solution is il - replacement of sightgages.
The presett schedule is to start receiving the replacement sightgages in October. Installation will be pertormed as expediously as possible in conjunction with other scheduled plant startup work.
During the replacement process our required surveillance program will be functioning so we have not scheduled a date for completion of the changeover. We can furnish ycu with the new design in approximately 2 months as a final report oc the fix.
