- This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. H. L. Whitener of this

office on July 20-22 and August 2-5, 1977, of activities authorized by
NRC Operating License No. DPR-72 for the Crystal River Unit 3 facility,
and to the discussion of our findings held with Mr. G. P. Beatty, Jr.,
at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in
the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection
'
consisted of selective eynminations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
We have examined acticas you have taken with regard to previously
identifled inspection findings. These are discussed in the enclosed
inspection report.
During the inspection it was found that certain activities under your
license appear to be in noncompliance with NRC requirements. This item
and references to pertinent requirements are listed in the enclosed
Notice of Violation. Corrective actions to prevent recurrences were
completed prior to the conclusion of this inspection;.therefore, a reply
to this item of noncompliance is not requested.
