APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Duke Power Company License No. CPPR-167 Cherokee Nuclear Station CPPR-168 CPPR-169 Based on the NRC inspection December 5-7, 1979, certain of your activities were apparently not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below. These items have been categorized as described in correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
As required by Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50, and as implemented by Duke Power. Company Topical Report, Duke IA, paragraph 17.1.5, " Activities affecting quality shall be prescribed by documenteo instructions, procedures, or drawings,... and shall be accomplished in accordance with these instruc-tions, procedures,..." Cherokee specification P81S-1109.00-00-0001 requires i
that concrete aggregate be sampled and tested for soundness and potential reactivity at six month intervals.
Contrary to the above, after concrete aggregates were sampled for soundness and potential reactivity testing on February 14, 1979, no additional sampics were obtained for these tests until November 28, 1979; This is a Deficiency.
