Identification of-Contrary to Environmental Technical Occurrence:

LSpecification 3.1.5, a representative 1 sample was not obtained for February from Test Well 4 Con'ditions Prior to NA' Occurrence:

The February sample was not collected

because. site construction activities have eliminated the test well site.

' Description of The required' construction activity is a. part of the Apparent Cause:

intake canal modification at the Crystal River site.

Analysis of The non collection of the sample did not result from

' operation 1of Crystal River Unit #3 nor is operation of the plant affected by it.

Corrective Action

Since Well 4 was eliminated,Well 1 will be eliminated, samples will not be available for future. collection. A Technical Specification Change Request will' be submitted to delete the sampling requirement specification for the Chemical-Industrial Waste Water Treatment System as it is part of the Florida Department of ~ Environmental Regulation Permit No.1009-2527. However, until the license amendment is issued, representative samples will be obtained from Test Well 6 and the intake canal directly to the south' of the ponds as well as from Test Well 5, the discharge canal directly to the north of the ponds and-the ponds themselves to assure that chemical industrial vaste water is controlled so as to not adversely affect public health or the natural aquatic environment.
