Dear Mr. Dunn:
We have completed our review of the potential for steam generator water hammer at the Beaver Valley Power Station (SVPS) Unit No.1.
Our review was based on the information Duquesne Light Company provided in letters dated July 9,1975 and January 25, 1978. We have detemined that the design of the feedwater lines and the feed-water ring and the licensing condition, C.7 Steam Generator Water Rise Rate, are adequate to reduce the potential for water hammer. A copy of our evaluation and the evaluation prepared by our consultant, EG&G Idaho, Inc., is enclosed for your infomation.
