Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
During a follow-up inspection to I.E.
Inspection Report 324-325/79-02, your Mr. W. A. Ruhlman reviewed our response to his Inspection Report 324-325/79-22 and stated that a supplement.al response should be issued. This supplement is to address his concerns of operator testing on self-study topics and how Training Instruction TI-200, Appendix A, would be revised.
All operators passed topical examinations on the lecture series conducted by self-study during 1978.
Training Ia-truction TI-200, Appendix A, will be revised by August 31, 1979, to define classroom training in accordance with 10 CFR 55, Appendix A.
This will prevent a future recurrence of this problem.
During the plant exit meeting with Mr. Ruhlman for Inspection Report 324-325/79-22, CP&L committed to update Three Mile Island training in accordance with I.E.Bulletin 79-08, and a testing program of that training, by September 1, 1979. We currently plan to provide this training during the 1979 operator retraining program to be conducted from August through December; therefore, unless otherwise notified, we will coc:pletc this commitment by December 31, 1979.
