SECY-78-469 - Response to June 16, 1978 Memorandum from S.J. Chilk to L. V. Gossick Concerning Discosal Alternatives to Shallow Land Burial of Low-Level Radioactive Wastes (CONSENTCALENDARITEilF The Commission *, by a vote of 2-0**, approved as revised the advance notice of proposed rulemaking contained in Enclosure 2 of the subject paper.

In so doing, the Commission requested that:

1.

the proposed Federal Register notice be expanded to describe the regulations and procedures that will be in effect until 1980, at which time the new ragulations will be ccmpleted; 2.

the discussion about the withdrawal of the commercial burial site application in ilew Mexico be deleted; 3.

the advance notice of proposed rulemaking be published in the Federal Register, for 60-day public comment.
