,,f-REACTOR BUILDIflG SPRAY PUMP FUNCTIONAL TEST AND VALVE OPERABILITY TEST NOTE:
2303-M24A includes valve and pump testing; 2303-M24B covers pump testing only.
1.0 PURPOSE To insure compliance with Technical Specification 4.6.2.lb which states:
By verifying, that on recirculation flow, each pump develops a discharge pressure of > 194 psig when tested pursuant to Specification 4.0.5.
S;ecification 4.0.5 references ASME Section Yi for testing of
_m:3.
Section XI specifies test quantities to be measure and a::eptable ranges for those quantities.
I 1.2 7: i sure compliance with TMI Unit 2 Technical, Specifications, I::-foa 4.C.5.
, wn.
- r. service testing at AMt Code Class 1, 2, and 3 pumps and valves shall be performed in accordance with Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and applicable addenda as required by 10 CFR 50, Section 50.55a(g).
The above inservice testing will confirm the operation / function of the following ASME Code Class 2 valves: BS-V1 A and B, and BS-V100 A and B.

Subsections 6.1 and 6.2 include both valve and pump testing, while subsections 6.3 and 6.4 include punp testing only.
If both 2303-M24A and 2303-M24B are. scheduled cn the Weekly Checklist Master Schedule, perform subsections 6.1 and 6.2, only.
If only 2303-M24B is scheduled perform subsections 6.3 and 6.4, only. All of the steps in 6.1 and 6.2 are included in 6.3 and 6.4, respectively.

3.2 P
. servi a test shall be run on each pump nominally each month c M ng normal plant operation.
It is recommended that this test fre:_ency he raintained during cold shutdown periods where this can reas:nably be accomplished, although this is not mandatory.
3.3 When testing "A" Reactor Bldg. Spray Pump, "A" Make-up Pump must not be aligned to take suction from the Make-up tank to avoid using BWST water for normal make-up and seal injection.
Also "C" Make-up Pump must not be aligne.d to take suction from the Make-up tank when testing BS-P-18.
If necessary, shift pump alignment per 2104-1.2.

3.5 All test data must be analyzed within 96 hours0.00111 days <br />0.0267 hours <br />1.587302e-4 weeks <br />3.6528e-5 months <br /> after test completion.
3.6 Bearing temperatures are only required to be measured once every year. When measurement of bearing temperature is not required, each pump shall be run for at least five minutes under conditions I
as stable as the system permits. At the end of this time at least cne ieasurer.ent of each of the quantities specified shall be made and recorded.

as indicated by BS-1-FI2 on Panel 3 corresponds to the reference value.
'$.4.11 LET pump run five minutes or until system stabilizes.
fl0TE:
Perform the following three steps only the first time this test is run during each calendar year; since bearing temperature is only required once each year.
6.4.12 ALLOW pump to run until three successive bearing oil tenperature measurements (as indicated by Computer Group 16) taken at 10 minute intervals, change by less tt.an 3%.
6.4.13 Record bearing oil temperatures and times taken on Data Sheet B.
6.4.14 RECORD final :.emperatures on Data Sheet B.
6.4.15 READ and RECORD the pump running inlet pressure frca. temporary pressure gage.
6.4.16 READ and RECORD the pump discharge pressure from BS-2-PI2.
6.4.17 CALCULATE differential pressure (Step 6.4.15 minus Step 6.4.14) and RECORD on Data Sheet.
6.4.18 READ and RECORD the flow rate from the pump to :
BS-1-FI-2 on Panel 3.
6.4.19 RECORD the inboard bearing vibration in the horizonal and vertical plane perpendicular to the rotating shaf t.
INDICATE the higher of the two vibration amplitudes and whether in horizonal (H) or vertical (V) plane.
INSURE the probe is i
on the designated test points and designated plane.
6.4.20 STOP pump.1d realign the Reactor Building spray system valves per 2104-1.4.
i 6.4.21 If in Modes 1-4, Re-open DH-V133A & 1333 and install locks.
Make a note in the shift Foreman's log that the NaOH tank is back in service.

12/15/77 7.4 Review the valve operability test results for valves BS-V1 A and B, and BS-V4 A and B and ensure that the stroke time limits in the data
' sheets are not excaeded. Also compare the valve stroke times with those from the previous performance of this test.
If an increase in stroke time of 25% or more from the previous test for valves with stroke times greater than 10 seconds or 50% or more for valves with stroke times less than or equal to ten seconds is observed the analysis portion of the data sheet shall be filled out by the Lead Me:hanical Engineer /ISI Coordinator and test frequency shall be increased for those valves to once each month until corrective action is taken.
I 7.5 E::n of the valves which has been functionally tested shall have been i
l cbserved to function as required on the data sheet.
If a valve fails to exnibit the required change of valve stem or disc position during the test, or if the valve stroke time limit is exceeded, corrective j
a::':n shall be i ted immediatel v.
If the condition is not or e
c;- :: be corre:t-2 hours the valve shall be declared j
i i ::2 a:ive. 'When corrective action is required as a result of j
tes:s made during cold shutdown, the condition shall be corrected be#:re startua. A retest showing acceptable operation shall be run following any required corrective action before the valve is returned i
to service.
7.6 When valve testing is performed, the analysis portion of the data sheet shall be filled out and signed by the Lead Mechanical Engineer / ISI Coordinator.
