Dear Mr. Finfrock:
We have completed our review of your letter dated August 31, 1979, which provides the desigr. criteria for certain modifications resulting from the fire protection review. We find that the designs that have been proposed for implementing these modifications will provide the protection the staff intended in its issuance of the Fire Protection Safety Evaluation fieport (FPSER) dated March 3,1978 and therefore are acceptable.
The implementation schedule for all of the proposed modifications is given in Table 3.1 of Supplement No. 2 to the March 3,1978 FPSER. Supplement Ho. 2 is dated November 13, 1979. All items 3.1.1 through 3.1.22 have been reviewed and approved for implementation. Only one item, 3.1.23 (Remote Shutdown Station) has not been reviewed for design details.
This item will be reviewed concurrently with the Systematic Evaluation Program Review.
Our evaluation of incomplete items 3.2.1 through 3.2.4 of the March 3,1978 FPSER will be issued shortly.
