71 Shelton Avenue (Unoccupied Building)

New Haven, CT Dear Mr. Shae; On July 14, 2016 I visited the above reference site to perform a limited asbestos investigation.

The purpose of the investigation was to determine if asbestos containing debris is present on the floor and other surfaces throughout the unoccupied portions of the building. The large open bay in the Western end of Building 6H was not included in this investigation.

Samples of suspect debris were collected from scattered locations throughout the building. Eight bulk samples of floor debris and two wipe samples of floor/surface dust were collected and sent to AmeriSci New York where they were analyzed by PLM. The following are the samples collected and there results:

It should also be assumed that the white ceiling paper on the roof deck is asbestos containing and the probable cause of the contamination. Access to the building should be restricted to only properly trained personnel and the entire building, including all contents, should be decontaminated or disposed of as asbestos containing by a Connecticut licensed asbestos abatement contractor.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns or would like to discuss this issue further please call me at the office 203-324-2222. Thank you.
