Summary of Call - Holtec Hi-Store RAI Response Clarification Date: March 4, 2019 Attendees:

Purpose:
To provide clarification to NRC staff on the RAI responses CB-1, CB-2, CB-3, CB-4, CB-5 NRC staff requested that Hotlec clarify certain responses to recent RAI responses submitted November 30, 2018 and January 10, 2019 to include the following:
x CB-1-- Clarification for the location of the referenced table. Holtec stated that it incorrectly reference the wrong table from the 2009 report and will supplement the response with the correct reference x CB Clarify the basis of the security cost and verify the activities included in the handling of the fuel. Holtec will provide a supplement to the RAI to provide additional basis for the figures.
x CB-3 -- Clarification regarded the discounting of costs over the proposed licensing term including how and when those discounts were applied. Holtec stated that Tables 9.2.4 and 9.2.5 were discounted but the proposed action was not discounted. Holtec will supplement the response to the RAI.
x CB-4 -- Clarification for the costs of stranded fuel and explain the costs associated with Table 9.2.1 for stranded and nonstranded fuel. Holtec stated its calculation was assessed for the year 2040 and will supplement the table with additional explanation of origin of the costs.
x CB-5 -- Clarification on the plant operational cost and the basis for a 4.5M dollar cost. Holtec stated that this figure was extrapolated based on the size of the site and will supplement the response with additional explanation.
Holtec committed to providing a supplement to RAI responses as soon as possible.
