REQUEST FOR U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TERMINATION OF SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIALS LICENSE NUMBER 2015 FOR THE AREVA NUCLEAR MATERIALS, LLC, EAGLE ROCK ENRICHMENT FACILITY (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER: L-2018-LIT-0003)
Dear Mr. Shakir:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has received your submittal dated May 14, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Number ML18151A476) requesting NRC termination of Special Nuclear Materials License Number 2015.
We have conducted a preliminary review of your request and determined that it has no administrative omissions or deficiencies and that it provides sufficient information to proceed with detailed technical review. Your submittal has been assigned Enterprise Project Identification (EPID) Number L-2018-LIT-0003. Please reference this EPID number and Docket Number 07007015 in any future correspondence associated with the license termination request.
Based on the projection of current review schedules, we anticipate completing the technical review by no later than August 3, 2018. This date could change depending on the findings of our technical review, need for additional/supplementing information, urgent assignments, or other factors. We will promptly communicate any significant changes to this schedule. In addition, the NRC staff estimates that completing the review of your submittal will require approximately 30 staff hours which corresponds to about $7,890.00 ($263.00/hr).
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publically Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web Site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
