PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1, 2, AND 3 - NRC INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE INSTALLATION SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT 05000528/2018401, 05000529/2018401, 05000530/2018401, AND 07200044/2018401
Dear Mr. Bement:
On May 10, 2018, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Security Inspection at your Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. The inspection covered the general physical security license requirements for independent spent fuel storage installations. The inspector documented the results of this inspection in the enclosed inspection report.
The NRC inspector did not identify any finding or violation of more than minor significance.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 2.390, "Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding, of the NRC's "Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRCs Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
However, the enclosed report contains Security-Related Information, so the enclosed report will not be made publically available in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1). If you choose to provide a response that contains Security-Related Information, please mark your entire response Security-Related Information-Withhold from public disclosure under 10 CFR 2.390, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) and follow the instructions for withholding in
2 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1). The NRC is waiving the affidavit requirements for your response in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1)(ii).
