License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 On August 9, 1985 (Serial No.85-556), we proposed technical specification changes regarding the snubber surveillance requirements.
On October 11,
- 1985, you requested additional information regarding our - proposed changes.
In developing our response, it became apparent to us that current developments in a related area - the NRC's proposed revision to General Design Criterion 4 - would have a significant impact on Surry' s snubber surveillance program.
We_ understand that publication of the revised criterion is expected in-the near term.
Therefore, rather than expand resources on the two issues independently, we defer any major changes to the existing program until the revised criterion is published.
So, we plan to supercede our August 9, 1985 request with a request to delete the snubber tables (and associated references) in accordance with NRC Generic Letter 84-13, dated May 3, 1984. This change was discussed with the NRC Surry Project Manager on November 12, 1985.
We also informed him that we
- would only respond to your October 11, 1985 request to the extent it was applicable to the revised request.
Our response to your October 11, 1985 request for additional information and the revised Technical Specification proposal will be submitted to your office by December 31, 1985.
