INSTALLATION OF VARIABLE SETPOINT (TAC NO. 72889)
Consumers Power Company letter dated November 10, 1988, informed the Staff that we planned to install the PORV variable setpoint control during the first outage of sufficient length after April 1, 1989.
This letter is to inform the Staff that we now plan to install the PORV variable setpoint control concurrent with the installation of new PORVs and block valves.
Concurrent installation of the variable setpoint and the new PORVs will facilitate operator training.
Although, as stated in our November 17, 1987 letter, we planned to install the new PORVs and block valves in the first planned outage of 45 days or more after September 1, 1989, no outages are planned after September 1, 1989 until the 1990 refueling outage.
Therefore, the installation of the new PORVs and block valves and the installation of the PORV variable setpoint control are now scheduled for the 1990 refueling outage.
