7923 Technical Specification Involve~i ltcported Under Technical Speci('ication 6.7.2.6.2 Date of Occurrence 12/2/79 Time of Occurrence 11oo Unit Identification and Descr~ition of Occurrence:

Diesel generator 3C tripped following tEe start of RHR pump 3B.

This was during the performance of SI 4.9.A.l.b.

Conditions =Pr ior to Occurrence:

U-1 8 95%.

U-2 8 95%.

U-3 6 0% refueling outage.

Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveill-Ince Ilequirements met Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

The voltage output of frequency generator was too high resulting in the D/G tying in at a lower speed and voltage.

The D/G tried to compensate and tripped on overspeed.

I I

Analvafa of Occurrence:

There was no damage to plant equipment.

There was no activity release, no personnel exposure or injury, and no danger to health or safety of the public.

Corre'ive Action:

The frequency generator voltage output was corrected and the speed sensing panels were. calibrated on D/G 3C.

A1X U-3 D/G were checked, and the U-1 and 2 D/G's-will be checked prior to the performance of the emergency load acceptance test during U-1 refueling outage.
