Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In accordance with 10CFR50.55(e),
the Region II office (Mr. R. Bradley) was officiallynotified of the subject deficiency as being a "potentially reportable" item on October 29, 1979.
On October 30, 1979, the Region II ofHce (Mr. R.. Bradley) was officiallynotified that the'ubject deficiency was considered reportable under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
'he intent of this letter is to inform you that due to the nature of the problem, all corrective action has not been completed on the sub)ect deHciency and'that it is anticipated Chat all action will be completed by March 1, 1980, at which time the final report willbe submitted.
The intenC of this lettex is to also document the November 26, 1979, telephone conversation between your Mr. C. E. Murphy and myself wherein it was agreed that this letter with its attachments (i.e. the November 1, 2, and 14, 1979, Carolina Power 6 Light Company's letters to the NRC which px'ovide an update of the actions taken/planned to resolve the subject deHciency) would serve as the interim report.
Please note that although the attached letters also address a previously reported pxoblem concerning missing No. 18 dowels in the containment wall, "this problem was,evaluated sepaxately and was subsequently identified ae non-reportable.
