In our letter dated February 9,

1995, we provided our evaluation of your scaled-back program to resolve the primary concern of USI A-46, "Seismic qualification of Equipment in Operating Plants."

Several areas of concern were identified which required further evaluation before a final determination can be reached regarding the overall program adequacy.

We stated our intent to conduct site inspections in order to fully evaluate your USI A-46 program implementation, with special emphasis on the concerns noted in our Safety Evaluation dated February 9, 1995.

In a letter dated June 13, 1995, Hr.'W.H. Bohlke proposed a two day technical working meeting in Washington to resolve our remaining concerns, citing a cost savings of approximately

$ 200,000. 'n response t'o Hr. Bohlke's,letter, we discussed the available options with';your staff on June"27;, 1995,'nd have agreed that a one week audit of,.your..program should, be adequate'to resolve the remaining issues.
