'OFMEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 6, 1998, TO DISCUSS THE.
STEAM GENERATOR REPLACEMENT AND POWER UPRATE PLANS FOR PALO VERDE UNIT2 On October 6, 1998, the NRC and the Palo Verde licensee, Arizona Public Service (APS), met in Rockville, Maryland to discuss the steam generator replacement and power uprate plans for Palo Verde Unit 2. This meeting updated the information provided during the April 8, 1998, meeting on these issues.
APS informed the staff that the power uprate scoping study showed acceptable results, and provided additional details on the design, transportation and installation issues for the new steam generators.
Attachment 1 is the list of attendees for this meeting and is a copy of the slides used by the licensee in their presentation.
It was agreed at the conclusion of the meeting that the staff and APS willmaintain communications as developments arise on these issues.
The next meeting between the staff and APS is scheduled for March 1999.
