Dear Mr. Vogler:
On behalf of Plains. Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative, Inc.
("Plains" ), I request that the Commission stay the proceeding instituted by Plains in its November 28, 1986 "Comments of Plains Electric Generations and Transmission Cooperative, Inc.,
on Antitrust Information, Request for Finding of Significant Change, Request for Antitrust Hearing and Request for Imposition of License Conditions" in the above-styled docket, until no later than close of business
- Friday, June 5,. 1987.
The reason for this request is that Plains and the El Paso Electric Company
("EPE") are engaged'n serious discussions which both parties hope may lead to a mutually satisfactory resolution of the disputes addressed in the parties'ilings.
Counsel for EPE has informed us that they will direct a
similar request for stay to the Commission.
If a settlement of this dispute is not achieved, the granting of the requested stay will not be relied upon by either party as an event which affects the procedural or substantive resolution of this proceeding.
The intent of both parties is that the status quo be maintained until June 5,
on or before which date
