CPPR-141, 142 Notice of Violation Based on the results of the NRC inspection conducted on October 22-26, 1979, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below:
10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion V, Instructions, Procedures and
- Drawings, as implemented by PSAR Section 17.1A.5, requires that activities affecting quality be accomplished in accordance with instructions, procedures, or drawings appropriate to the circumstances.
Contrary to the above requirement, on October 24,
- 1979, the NRC inspector identified undersized fillet welds for the column to base welds for the installed support assemblies of the Unit 1 and 2 low-pressure safety injection pumps and containment spray pumps.
Specifically, 17 of 48 fillet welds for the four Unit 1
pump support assembly and 16 of 48 fillet welds for the four Unit 2 pump support assembly column to base plate welds were undersized compared to the size specified in con-struction drawing 13-C-ZAS-242.
This is an infraction.
