4 PAGE 3 of 7 STEP ACTION/EXPECTED RESPONSE

RESPONSE

NOT OBTAINED CAUTION IF AT ANY TIME DURING THIS PROCBDURE, A REACTOR TRIP OCCURS, E-O, REACTOR TRIP OR SAFETY INJECTION, SHALL BE PERFORMED.

1 Verify Turbine Stop Valves CLOSED Trip turbine manually.

o IF turbine stop valves do NOT

close, THEN close both MSIVs.

-AND-

?

o IF reactor power greater than 8X power, manually trip the reactor and go to E-O, REACTOR TRIP or SAFETY INJECTION.

2 Verify Proper Operation Of Rod Control And Steam Dump:

a. Control rods - IN AUTO AND MOVING IN
b. Condenser steam dump - OPERATING IN AUTO
c. Tavg - TRENDING TO 547'F
a. Place rod control bank selector in manual and drive rods in.
b. IF steam dump NOT available, THEN:

o Verify operation of S/G ARVs.

o IF power is greater than 8X, THEN ensure reactor trip and GO TO E-O, REACTOR TRIP or SAFETY INJECTION.

c. IF Tavg can NOT be controlled, THBN manually trip the reactor and go to E-O, REACTOR TRIP or SAFETY INJECTION.

RESPONSE

NOT OBTAINED 3

Check PRZR Pressure GREATER IF PRZR pressure is decreasing THAN 2000 PSIG uncontrollably, THEN go to AP-PRZR.l, ABNORMAL PRZR PRESSURE.

4 Check PRZR Level GREATER THAN 134 IF PRZR level less than

13X, THEN:
a. Verify letdown isolation.
b. Increase charging as necessary to restore PRZR level to program.

5 Check S/G Levels:

a. Both S/G levels - TRENDING TO 39X
b. Main feed pump - OPERATING PROPERLY TO CONTROL S/G LEVEL
a. Control feed'flow manually to restore S/G levels to 39X.
b. IF both MFV pumps have tripped, THEN:

o Verify both MDAFTl pumps have started and flow has throttled to less than 230 gpm.

o Control AFV flow as required to maintain S/G level at "39X.

RESPONSE

NOT OBTAINED 6 Verify Reactor Power Decreasing To No Load:

o Pover - LESS THAN 5X o

Intermediate ranges

- DECREASING TOWARD THE POINT OF ADDING HEAT, 2.5 x 10-~

AMPS Decrease reactor power to no load:

a. Place rod control bank selector in MANUAL and drive rods in to reduce pover.
b. Verify steam dump closes as temperature decreases, OR place steam dump in manual and close valves.
c. Verify S/G ARVs close as required.

7 Verify Bus 11A and Bus llB Auto Bus Transfer:

o For Bus 11A:

IF Bus llA or llB is de-energized; THEN restore power as follovs:

o For Bus llA:

a.

Bus llA normal feed bkr-OPEN b.

Bus llA to bus 12A tie-CLOSED o

For Bus llB:

a.

Bus llB normal feed bkr-OPEN b.

Bus llB to bus 12B tie-CLOSED a.

Check open Bus llA normal feed bkr.

b. Place bus llA-12A tie sync svitch to ON.
c. Close bus llA-12A tie bkr o

For Bus 11B:

a.

Check open bus llB normal feed bkr.

b. Place bus llB-12B tie sync switch to ON.
c. Close bus llB-12B tie bkr.

RESPONSE

NOT OBTAINED 8 Establish Shutdown Control WHEN Reactor Power And S/G Levels Have Stabilized At No Load:

a. Place rod control bank selector

- IN MANUAL

b. Place AFV bypass (pump lA, pump 1B) switches

- IN DEFEAT

c. Start

- BOTH MDAFV PUMPS AND VERIFY DISCHARGE PRESSURE

d. Close - MFV PUMP (1A, 1B)

DISCHARGE VALVES e.

Stop - BOTH MFV PUMPS

f. Ad)ust AFV bypass valves 4480 and 4481 - TO CONTROL S/G LEVELS AT 39X NOTE:

REFER TO 0-9.3, IMMEDIATE NOTIFICATION FOR REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.
