Re: St. Lucie Unit 1 Docket: No. 50-335 Proposed License Amendment Electrical Power S stems A. C. Sources By letter L-89-406, dated December 15, 1989, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) submitted a proposed license amendment entitled "Electrical Power Systems A. C. Sources". The purpose of the proposed license amendment is to implement the NRC recommendations regarding improvements to the Technical Specifications to enhance diesel generator reliability as presented in Generic Letter (GL) 84-15 "Proposed Staff Actions to Improve and Maintain Diesel Generator Reliability". Additionally, the proposed license amendment will make the St. Lucie Unit 1 Technical Specifications for "Electrical Power Systems A. C. Sources" similar to the St. Lucie Unit 2 Technical Specifications. As a result of its review of the proposed license amendment, the NRC requested that FPL amend and/or clarify certain portions of the proposed license amendment. Attachment 1 contains marked proposed Technical Specifications for St. Lucie Unit 1 including the requested changes/clarifications. Attachment 2 discusses those changes. Attachment 1 to this letter replaces the proposed Technical Specifications changes submitted by FPL in letter L 406 in their entirety. The proposed revisions have been reviewed by the St. Lucie Facility Review Group and the Florida Power & Light Company Nuclear Review Board.
