Ladies and Gentlemen:
By letter dated June 28, 2017 (Reference 1), Duke Energy Progress, LLC (Duke Energy),
submitted a License Amendment Request (LAR) proposing changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 (HNP). The proposed amendment would modify the TS for fuel storage criticality to account for the use of Metamic neutron absorbing spent fuel pool rack inserts and soluble boron for the purpose of criticality control in the Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) storage racks that currently credit Boraflex.
Following the submittal of Reference 1, Duke Energy was notified of an issue with its reporting of the ADAMS Accession Number associated with Reference 2. The accession number provided in both the cover letter and Attachment 1 (Section 2.3) of Reference 1 was ML01960180. The correct ADAMS Accession Number for the referenced letter is ML101960180. Please utilize this corrected reference information in place of that in the original submittal.
