This is in regard shipment of spent Forked River, Hew Ohio as contained to your request for an approved route to be used for a reactor fuel from Oyster Creek !!uclear Generatinq Station, Jersey to Battelle'olumbus Laboratories, l est Jefferson, in your letters of September 21, 1979 and October 4, 1979.
!'e have determined that your "Primary Route" and "Alternate Secondary Route,"
as submitted with your letter of September 21,
- 1979, pass through urbanized areas and thus do not meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 73.37(a)(3).
Accordingly, in view of the existence of an acceptable alternative route, the use of these routes is disapproved.
The resubmitted route (enclosure to your October 4, 1979 letter) is judged to meet the regulatory requirements in accordance ivith 10 CFR Part 73.37 and accordingly is approved except as noted below and on page 11 of Enclosure 2.
Lines 10 and 11 of the resubmitted route (enclosure to your letter of October 4, 1979) should be replaced with the entries noted in Enclosure 1 to more nearly reflect the rou e a
that location.
The route overview (strip map), enclosure (Enclosure
- 2) to this letter, has been prepared to reflect this change.
Please note that assuring highway safety is the resporisibility of the licenscc and the carrier and cur approval is no intended to provide re'.ief in t!lis regard.
