NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION - PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION AND RESOLUTION CYBER SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT 05000220/2016405 AND 05000410/2016405

Dear Mr. Hanson:

On September 23, 2016, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a cyber security related Problem Identification and Resolution (PI&R) inspection at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2. On September 23, 2016, the NRC inspector discussed the results of this inspection with Mr. Alexander Sterio, Engineering Director, and other members of your staff. The results of this inspection are documented in the enclosed report.

No NRC-identified or self-revealing findings were identified.

This letter will be made available for public inspection and copying at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html and at the NRCs Public Document Room in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulation (10 CFR) 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding.

However, the enclosed report contains Security-Related Information, so the enclosed report will not be made publically available in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1). If you choose to provide a response that contains Security-Related Information, please mark you entire response Security-Related Information-Withhold from public disclosure under 10 CFR 2.390 in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) and follow the instructions for withholding in 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1).

Enclosure transmitted herewith contains Sensitive Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information. When separated from the Enclosure the transmittal document is decontrolled. The NRC is waiving the affidavit requirements for your response in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(b)1)(ii).
