12/01/2014 1.0 PURPOSE The purpose of this system time response confirmation report is to summarize the test results from the executed FAT procedure 993754-13-902-1 Rev 0 [Reference 8.1.4] for the Process Protection System (PPS) Replacement Project. PPS Protection Set III Safety-Related V10 Tricon platform hardware and TriStation Application Project (TSAP) software is validated as a system to confirm PG&E system time response requirements are satisfied. This report is one of the Software Verification and Validation Plan

[Reference 8.1.1] Test Phase IV&V task and required output. This test report is developed in accordance with PPM 6.0, Test Control.

12/01/2014 2.0 TEST OBJECTIVE Objective 1: Confirm the preliminary worst case (deterministic) OTDT and OPDT PPS response time allocations data calculated in Maximum TSAP Scan Time [Reference 8.1.5]. System Time Response test is limited to Protection Set III Tricon system with 200 ms requirement. Maximum TSAP scan time setting without contingency was calculated Objective 2: Validate V10 Tricon Protection Set III system performance met the following timing requirements specified in Software Requirements Specification

[Reference 8.1.2], and Validation Test Specification [Reference 8.1.3].

R-3004 IRS Section 1.5.8 The Tricon Protection Set total Response time shall not exceed 200 msec.

7.0 CONCLUSION

S The test results indicate that the TICP C-5 Interlock at Trip [De-energize to Trip] (Test

13) has the longest response time, even though, the Maximum TSAP Scan Time document (Ref: 8.1.5) calculates OPDT and OTDT as having the longest response time.

This was due to the small sample of tests (5 run for each test), and difference between hypothetical calculation and actual experimentation. However, all test results are within allowed range for all tested channel.

After the execution of the FAT Procedure 993754-13-902-1, Appendix III System Time Response testing for the V10 Tricon Protection Set III system, the test results were reviewed independently by the Project Review Committee in accordance with PPM 6.0, Test Control. This review ensured that the actual results met the acceptance criteria per the Validation Test Specification time response of 200 msec. From reviewed test results data, IV&V team has successfully completed the validation for V10 Tricon Protection Set III system time response meeting PGE requirements specified in section 2.0.
