By letter dated May 30, 1986, your Company was informed of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) staff's partial approval of your application dated June 8, 1984. This application proposed certain Technical Specification changes (Proposed Change No. 136) relating to fire protection equipment for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit No. 1. Fees pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22 of the March 23, 1978 regulations were not remitted with your application because your Company stated that this application was a revision to Proposed Change No. 92 dated April 4, 1980, for which a Class III fee ($4,000) was remitted.
Based on information provided by the ONRR staff, it has been determined that a Class III fee ($4,000) is appropriate since the review involves consideration of a single safety issue. By letter dated April 25, 1980, your Company was refunded the Class III fee ($4,000) which was remitted with the April 4 application. Therefore, you are requested to remit the sum of $4,000 to this office for your June 8 application. If the ONRR staff's final review of your application reveals this fee is not appro priate, you will be notified and any adjustments will be made.
