Dear Mr. Ray:
SUBJECT:
LOSS OF DECAY HEAT REMOVAL (GENERIC LETTER NO. 88-17), SAN ONOFRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNIT NO. 1 (TAC NO. 69773)
In your letter dated March 27, 1990, you notified us of your intention to reschedule your completion of certain programmed enhancements related to Generic Letter No. 88-17.
In your original response to the generic letter dated February 1, 1989, you stated that these enhancements would be completed by April 30, 1990.
You now plan to complete certain of these enhancements by the end of the Cycle XI refueling outage (December, 1990).
In discussing this matter further with members of your staff, we understand that the programmed enhancements that will be delayed are those associated with generic letter programmed enhancement Item No. 4 (analyses). It is our understanding that your plant specific analyses have been delayed due to work associated with the Cycle 11 FTOL open items.
We recognize that the Cycle 11 FTOL open items have had a significant impact on your resources and therefore consider this delay to be acceptable in this instance.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under Pub. L.96-511.
Please contact us if you should have any questions regarding this-matter, or if our understanding regarding your delay is incorrect.
