Letter, D. M. Crutchfield, NRC, to K. P. Baskin, SCE, Control of Heavy Loads Phase I, February 22, 1984 The referenced letter provided a revised Technical Evaluation Report (TER) for San Onofre Unit 1 and indicated that you had reviewed our October 21, 1982 response to your initial TER transmitted to us on August 3, 1982. The revised TER identified three areas for which additional information is required to complete the evaluation. Our response to address these three areas was requested within 45 days of receipt of the referenced letter.
Based upon our review of the requested information and considering the current status of San Onofre Unit 1, we have determined that additional time is required. As you know, we are presently involved in extensive efforts to return San Onofre Unit 1 to service in the last quarter of 1984 and the persons responsible for the preparation of the requested information are committed to these efforts.
Consequently, we intend to provide the requested information after the San Onofre Unit 1 return to service date. We will provide you with a more specific schedule at that time.
