In addition, licensees were requested to furnish the NRC with a proposed schedule for completing each of the basic requirements for the items identified in the enclosures to Reference A.
Reference B provided SCE's response to the NRC's request.
Reference C provided SCE with the results of the NRC's review of Reference B as it relates to the requirements of Supplement 1 to NUREG-0737 for the Detailed Control Room Design Review (CRDR) and the Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS).

January 31, 1984 Reference C states that for licensees which have previously completed activities applicable to the CRDR and SPDS, it is not the NRC's intent that those activities be repeated. However, sufficient documentation must be submitted to allow the NRC staff to evaluate the adequacy of the licensee's program for performing the CRDR and SPDS reviews. Further, it was stated that if SCE believes that the requirements of Supplement 1 to NUREG-0737 have been fulfilled, then documentation to this effect must be provided.
Reference D provided the NRC with documentation of previous SCE/NRC activities to substantiate SCE's position that the required activities with respect to the CRDR and SPOS had been completed.
During a subsequent telephone call on September 12, 1983, the NRC requested that SCE provide documentation consistent with Reference A guidelines to substantiate completion of required activities. Specifically, the NRC requested that SCE provide the CRDR Program Plan, the CRDR Summary Report and an SPOS Safety Analysis. Accordingly, SCE agreed to provide the CRDR Program Plan and Summary Report by January 31, 1984, and the SPOS Safety Analysis prior to startup following the first refueling outage for San Onofre Unit 2 and formally documented this agreement by letter dated September 14, 1983 (Reference E).
Consistent with this committment, enclosed please find seven copies of the CRDR Program Plan (Enclosure I) and the CROR Summary Report (Enclosure II).
SCE considers that this submittal satisfies SCE's committment to the NRC to provide this information by January 31, 1984. The Safety Parameter Display System Safety Analysis will be provided to the NRC prior to startup following the first refueling outage for San Onofre Unit 2 as stated in the September 14, 1983 letter.
