In response to a recent request from Mr. L. E. Kokajko, NRC Project Manager for San Onofre Units 2 and 3, this letter provides as an enclosure, a copy of the report "Evaluation of Unisolable Piping from Reactor Coolant System with Potential for Leakage Induced Thermal Stresses in Response to NRC Bulletin 88-08 SONGS 2 & 3." This report was prepared by Southern California Edison's Nuclear Engineering Design Organization (NEDO) in response to NRC Bulletin 88-08 "Thermal Stresses in Piping Connected to Reactor Coolant Systems."
The NRC requested a copy of this report because it was referenced in the pressurizer auxiliary spray line safety evaluation sent to the NRC as an enclosure to the above referenced letter. The information and calculations contained within the report were independently reviewed and approved when the report was prepared as indicated by the signatures on the cover sheet.
