The enclosed Safety Evaluation with an attached Technical Evaluation Report prepared by the NRC's contractor, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), provides the results of the staff and SAIC's review of the your submittals in response to the five open issues regarding the fire protec tion program at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit Nos. 2 and 3. The staff endorses the findings contained in the Technical Evaluation Report and concludes that you have provided an acceptable response to the open fire protection issues.
