June 28, 2013 ATTN: Document Control Desk U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555-0001 Docket No.50-059

SUBJECT:

Suspension of Texas A&M AGN-201M Reactor Operations Effective June 25, 2013, reactor operations have been voluntarily ceased until a satisfactory regulatory agreement is reached with the NRC concerning questions about the reactor control console. In order to move forward, the most practical and timely method to resolve concerns of a common-cause failure resulting from the introduction of computer software into the reactor safety system must be determined. Currently, the following two paths are under evaluation:

1. license amendment submittal to incorporate additional safety system requirements
2. restoring analog hardwire portions of the safety system.

Once the best path forward is determined, additional action will be taken to ensure the facility is in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
