PLANNED INSPECTION OF TI-186 INSPECTION OF PROCEDURES AND PROCESSES FOR RESPONDING TO POTENTIAL AIRCRAFT THREATS AT SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT ELECTRIC GENERATING STATION
Dear Mr. Koehl:
In communications on February 21, 2013, Mr. S. Hedger, Operator Licensing Branch, and Ms. R. Savage, Licensing, made arrangements for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to conduct an inspection using Temporary Instruction (TI)-186, Inspection of Procedures and Processes for Responding to Potential Aircraft Threats, at the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station. This inspection is planned for the week of July 8, 2013. The NRC inspectors request to observe a tabletop or control room simulator exercise, combined with plant walkthroughs with plant operators to allow inspection of TI-186 attributes. Ms. R. Savage has been advised of this request and provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection.
