NRC Annual Assessment Summary Duke Energy operated the plant in a manner that preserved the public health and safety and protected the environment.

Oconee was in the Licensee Response Column of Oconee Oconee was in the Licensee Response Column of the NRCs ROP Action Matrix for 2011.

A substantive cross-cutting issue for Procedure Compliance H.4(b) was identified in the 2010 EOC Assessment and closed in the 2011 EOC Assessment

NRC Annual Assessment Summary All cornerstone objectives were met with one Yellow finding identified (Mitigating Systems Cornerstone, 3rd quarter 2011 - will be discussed later)

Oconee NRC plans routine baseline inspections at Oconee for 2012.

In addition, NRC plans to conduct an IP 95002 inspection for the Yellow finding

IP 71003 - Post-approval License Renewal Inspection IP 93812 - Special Inspection (Pressurizer Heaters)

PIs and Findings All Green Performance Indicators 24 Green / Severity Level-IV inspection findings (19 NRC/self-January 1 through December 31, 2011 inspection findings (19 NRC/self revealing, 5 Licensee-identified) 1 Yellow inspection finding

NRC Inspection Findings Yellow Violation - Criterion III, Design Control Standby shutdown facility (SSF) pressurizer heater breakers that were not qualified for the required environmental conditions Licensee requested that the issue be treated as an old design issue based on the history of the issue Partial IP 95002 inspection completed February 9, 2012
