Dear Mr. Pacilio:

By letter dated April 8, 2011 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML110691095), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 201 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-39 and Amendment No. 163 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-85 for Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2, respectively. The safety evaluation enclosed with the amendments contains two errors that are being acknowledged and corrected by this letter.

First, on page 30 of the safety evaluation, the first paragraph, second sentence, starts with "As noted in Section 2.2.2 above ... " This reference to Section 2.2.2 of the safety evaluation should have been to Section 3.9.2. Second, on page 40 of the safety evaluation, the last full paragraph states that "Installation locations are downstream of the flow straighteners and upstream of the existing feedwater flow nozzle." This is true only for the installation locations of the new Leading Edge Flow Meters (LEFMs) in Loops "B" and "C" for each unit. The loop "A" LEFM location is upstream of both the flow straightener and the feedwater flow nozzle for each unit. The correct location is acknowledged elsewhere in the safety evaluation, specifically earlier on page 40, in the first bulleted paragraph on that page, as well as on page 21, Section 3.7.2. Neither of these errors has any bearing on the NRC staff's technical evaluation or conclusions.

Please contact me at 301-415-2833 if you have any questions.

Sincerely, Peter Bamford, Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch 1-2 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-352 and 50-353 cc: Distribution via Listserv
