By letter dated July 22, 2010 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML102080039), Southern California Edison Company (SCE, the licensee),
submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for approval of the Cyber Security Plan for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), Units 2 and 3.
The NRC staff has reviewed the information provided by SCE and determined that the additional information requested in the attachment to this e-mail message is needed to complete its review of the LAR. This request for additional information (RAI) reflects three generic questions developed by the NRC staff following discussions with the Nuclear Energy Institute and the industry Cyber Security Task Force, and all licensees will be requested to address these issues. In order to complete our review of the LAR in a timely manner, please submit your response to the attached RAI by March 31, 2011. Please contact me if SCE would like to have a conference call to discuss this request for additional information.
