REED COLLEGE - REVIEW OF THE EMERGENCY PLAN (TAC NO. M79578)
Dear Mr. Frantz:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) reviewed the Reed College Reactor Emergency Plan (EP) revision submitted by letter dated December 15, 2009, and updated by letter dated May 25, 2010. Our review was initiated based on your request for a power uprate in the Reed College Reactor license renewal application dated August 29, 2007 (a copy can be obtained from the NRC Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML092200010). Our review has determined that the Reed College Reactor EP is compliant with the following regulations and guidance:
Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.34(b)(6)(v)
Regulatory Guide 2.6, Emergency Planning for Research and Test Reactors American Nuclear Standards Institute Section 15.16, Emergency Planning for Research Reactors NUREG-0849, Standard Review Plan for the Review and Evaluation of Emergency Plans for Research and Test Reactors NRC Information Notice 97-34, Deficiencies in Licensee Submittals Regarding Terminology for Radiological Emergency Action Levels in Accordance with the New Part 20 NRC Information Notice 92-79, Nonpower Reactor Emergency Response We request that you commence implementing this approved EP revision immediately.
