TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS TASK FORCE TRAVELER TSTF-363, REVISION 0, REVISE TOPICAL REPORT REFERENCES IN ITS 5.6.5, COLR

Dear TSTF Members,

The NRC staff issued a letter to the Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF) on November 2, 2009 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession No. ML092151016), regarding TSTF Travelers TSTF-363, Revision 0, TSTF-408, Revision 1, and TSTF-419, Revision 0 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML040630088, ML011630261, and ML012690234, respectively). These Travelers involve the relocation of Topical Report revisions and date citations from the Technical Specifications (TSs) to the Core Operating Limits Report and the Pressure and Temperature Limits Report.

This letter clarifies the letter and enclosure dated November 2, 2009. The agency has not finalized our position on this issue with regard to these travelers. The NRC staff is working with the TSTF to resolve concerns in this area. While the NRC staff and TSTF resolve concerns related to this matter, there may be significant delays in the review of license amendment requests implementing Travelers TSTF-363, Revision 0, TSTF-408, Revision 1, and TSTF-419, Revision 0.

The NRC staff is interested in meeting with the TSTF, to discuss concerns associated with Travelers TSTF-363, Revision 0, TSTF-408, Revision 1, and TSTF-419, Revision 0. It was discussed during the November 4, 2009, meeting, that a possible meeting time would be in January 2009. Please contact Michelle Honcharik at 301-415-1157 to schedule the meeting.
