ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. NPF-63 FOR THE SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT 1
Dear Mr. Burton:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued the Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-63, for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (HNP), Unit 1. The NRC issued the renewed facility operating license based on the staffs review of your application dated November 14, 2006, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through July 21, 2008. The technical specifications for HNP were not amended as a result of our review.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed license is set forth in NUREG-1916, Volumes 1 and 2, Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, published in August 2008. The results of the environmental reviews related to the issuance of the renewed license are given in NUREG-1437, Supplement 33, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 33, Regarding Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, published in August 2008.
Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-63 expires at midnight on October 24, 2046. contains the Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-63 and attachments, Appendix B - Environmental Protection Plan, and Appendix C - Antitrust Conditions.
C. Burton Enclosure 2 is a copy of the related Federal Register notice of issuance of the renewed license.
